"What Are They Really Saying?"
Virtual Presentation From "Women for Kansas Virtual Chapter"
The Women for Kansas Virtual Chapter welcomes Clay Wirestone, Kansas Reflector Opinion Editor presenting on "What Are They Really Saying?", Sunday, September 7, 2:00 p.m.
It’s increasingly hard to tell fact from fiction when we’re continually bombarded with information from AI, Russian, Chinese and biased influencers. As opinion editor for the Kansas Reflector, Clay Wirestone wades through the morass of information daily. He’ll share tips on deciphering what’s actually being said (or not) in press releases from politicians, political parties and influencers.
Wirestone’s work has appeared in more than 200 outlets in 30 states. He has written columns and edited copy for newsrooms in Kansas, New Hampshire, Florida and Pennsylvania. He has also fact checked politicians, researched for Larry the Cable Guy, and appeared in PolitiFact, Mental Floss and cnn.com. He is currently finishing a book for the University Press of Kansas about opinion writing.
