Posse of Pepper Pickers descends on East Lawrence Farm

This was a rush to harvest before the freeze.

Mellowfields Farm invited us to help glean their extremely bountiful pepper patch ahead of the below freezing temperatures on Saturday night. We picked 1075 lbs of peppers that were then delivered to the Just Food pantry. They will be given away fresh or be made into prepared food at the “Chop Shop” and provided to our town folk that are in need.
