Career & Experience
FEDERAL SERVICE & UNION LEADERSHIP
She served at the Social Security Administration, focusing on workforce modernization and employee support.
Worked to strengthen the federal workforce and resist efforts to politicize civil service.
Served as a federal union officer, advocating for worker protections, fair wages, and stronger enforcement of labor law.
Served as an investigator and election officer for the National Labor Relations Board, where she ensured fair play in the employer-employee collective bargaining process.
ATTORNEY & ADVOCATE
Represented low-income Kansans in Legal Aid organizations fighting for their housing, consumer, and family rights in the legal system.
Practiced immigration law in a legal clinic and in private practice, advising families, employers, and immigrants navigating complex federal systems.
Advocated for disabled Kansans facing the long process of obtaining their Social Security and Medicare benefits.
Built her own practice and later returned to SSA to support national operations.
