“Gather at 9th and Mass at noon. March down Massachusetts Street north to City Hall where we will place some demands on our city government. Then, march on to Watson Park at 7th and Kentucky for a Rally with speakers including
Brooklyn Moseley, our Kansas Representative,
Emerson Hoffzales, President of the LEA,
Jason Maymon with the Lawrence Democratic Socialists
and a performance and singalong with The PerSisters ~ A Women’s Resistance Choir!There will be info tables from-
Carceral Accountability Council
amongst others.”
“This march and rally is in Solidarity with the May Day Strong national movement. Bring your signs supporting Workers Over Billionaires, No ICE. No war. Protect Trans Rights, Hands off our vote.
This May Day event is based on Minnesota’s Day of Truth and Freedom that was held in January. We are saying: No Work, No School, No Shopping at Chain Stores.
In this work we want to provide an opportunity for groups throughout the area to connect with each other and the larger community.”
