Justice Matters Nehemiah Action Assembly
Sunday, April 26th at the Doubletree Hotel, Lawrence, KS, 200 McDonald Drive.
From Justice Matters-
“At this year's Assembly, Justice Matters will be calling for action to address childhood trauma. After months of in-depth research, the call for action is to implement the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) in Douglas County.
We are called not only to respond to trauma, but to prevent it-to go upstream and care for families before a crisis begins. This evidence-based program will provide early support that can change the entire trajectory of a child's life. Adoption of the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) will provide love and support for single mothers before a crisis takes hold, before a need goes unnamed and unmet, and importantly, before authorities become involved. This program will provide the support and tools to break inter-generational trauma and poverty for first-time single moms from pregnancy through the first two years of life. NFP represent a systemic approach to a longstanding issue in our community. That's justice! Our action provides hope for future generations.
The Nehemiah Action Assembly is a moment to stand together, to speak with one voice, and to call our community to honor its commitment to justice. Hundreds of
people will gather for this event, and I hope that you will consider participating. Bring others with you! Let us raise our voices together to do justice! Our attendance and participation is channeling the power of the people. Our voice and presence matters!”
