Bards Against Hunger Fundraiser
Poetry Reading and Resistance Choir Performance This Sunday
Bards Against Hunger is organizing a fundraising event for Food Not Bombs on Sunday, Nov. 23rd from 3:30-5pm at the Ecumenical Campus Ministries (ECM).
From LFK Food Not Bombs —
”Join us for the weekly community meal and enjoy local poets sharing poems written using the prompt, “food, not bombs,” just for this occasion. The PerSisters, a women’s resistance choir, will also be performing. Donations of $$ are especially needed to help Food Not Bombs provide meals especially for people who are living rough at the ECM, 1204 Oread, Lawrence, KS.”
From Iris Craver —
“Do you love poetry? Do you want to help feed your neighbors in need? Then have we got the event for you!
Bards Against Hunger is setting up a series of Lawrence poetry readings to benefit our various hometown food aid organizations and our first event, a poetry reading fundraiser for Food Not Bombs, is coming up this weekend! For this reading, performers will read original poems that address the theme “Food Not Bombs” and we’ll all support and appreciate each other’s creative flair while gathering for a worthy cause. It will be free to attend, but we will be requesting pay-what-you-can donations with a passed tip jar. Featured performers include Iris Craver, Emily Rems, The PerSisters Resistance Chorus, Nancy Hubble, ChrisTopeher Enneking and Julian, Shawn, and Autumn from Food Not Bombs, and more!”
Please spread the word to all your talented friends! And if you’d like to perform, please get in touch asap:
